Collision leads to armed carjacking in Pickering, Ontario [Video]

An armed carjacking in Pickering Monday evening has police on the hunt for at least two suspects after a man had his car stolen at gunpoint.

Durham Police responded to the armed carjacking call at 7:30 Monday night at Altona Road and Taunton Road near the Toronto border.

Police say the victim was travelling westbound on Taunton when he was rear-ended by an SUV just west of Altona. The victim had pulled over to check for damage when he was confronted at gunpoint by the passenger of the other vehicle who demanded the keys. The suspect then got in the victim’s vehicle and fled westbound on Taunton. The vehicle that rear-ended the victim also fled westbound.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.

The armed suspect is described as a Black man, 5’9” with a slim build. He was wearing a black baseball cap, black medical mask, black puffer jacket, black cargo pants and black shoes.
