Measles exposure reported at hotel and recreation centre in Ontario town [Video]

Anyone who recently visited a hotel and recreation centre in the York Region town of Newmarket could have been exposed to measles. 

Today, York Region Public Health said that an individual with measles recently visited two busy spots in the Ontario town, including the Best Western Voyageur Place Hotel (17565 Yonge St.) between 2 p.m. on Jan. 31 and 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 1 and the Magna Centre (800 Mulock Dr.) on Jan. 31 from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. 

Public Health says anyone present at the above times and locations might have been exposed and are asking anyone who was with an infant under six months of age, is/was pregnant or is immunocompromised to call 1-877-464-9675 ext. 77280 because they may be eligible for preventive treatment. 

The public health unit says the case of measles is associated with the current measles outbreak in the Grand Erie Health Unit.
