Snowfall warning still in effect in the GTA and southern Ontario [Video]

Ontario News

A light snowfall is expected to end this morning, with up to 2 cm of additional accumulation before tapering to flurries.

While the snowfall is easing, road conditions could remain challenging for commuters.

The affected areas include Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Halton Region, Hamilton, and the Niagara Region, where highways, streets, sidewalks, and parking lots may become slippery due to the fresh accumulation.

Drivers and pedestrians should exercise caution, as reduced visibility and slick surfaces could lead to hazardous conditions.

Motorists are advised to adjust their driving to match changing conditions, allowing extra travel time and maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles. Road maintenance crews are working to clear routes, but untreated areas may still be slippery.

The flurries are expected to taper off later in the morning, ending this round of snowfall.
