Good News: Local business showcases Oklahoma history through chocolate | Good News [Video]

At Yonder Chocolate, everything you see has a piece of Oklahoma history behind it.

“Even if it’s not named for here, it’s either inspired by things from here or it’s grown and gathered here,” said Ronnie Watchorn, the owner.

Watchorn started his chocolate shop with the intention of using the desserts to tell stories. He sources almost completely from local and indigenous businesses.

“We’ve started that return back to a simpler thing and I want to keep that going,” Watchorn said.

This year, Watchorn started a subscription box that features a different Oklahoma historical figure every month.

“I feel like this is part of telling Oklahoma’s story, it’s really important to me because a lot of the time when it comes down to Oklahoma, you hear about the land run, you don’t hear past that, or you hear about current politics or chaos happening at the capital,” Watchorn said. “I …
