Up to 60 cm of snow still to come in parts of southern Ontario [Video]

Parts of southern Ontario is bracing for intense lake effect snow squalls that will bring heavy snowfall and near-zero visibility over the next two days.

The storm is expected to create treacherous travel conditions, with some areas seeing rapid shifts from clear skies to heavy snow in a matter of kilometres.

What to Expect:Total snowfall: 30 to 60 cm, with the highest amounts possible if a snow squall remains stationary over one location.Visibility: Near zero in heavy snowfall and blowing snow.Wind: Gusty conditions could worsen visibility and create hazardous travel conditions.Timeline:

Locations: The snow squalls are forecast to begin this morning and continue through Tuesday, affecting several regions, including Mount Forest, Arthur, Northern Wellington County, Orillia, Lagoon City, Washago, Barrie, Collingwood, and Hillsdale. Along with Innisfil, New Tecumseth, Angus, Orangeville, Grand Valley, and Southern Dufferin County, these areas will experience the brunt of the storm as lake-effect snowbands move through.
