NEWTON, Miss. (WTOK) -On Saturday, February 22nd, Newton will host a black heritage pop-up shop in honor of Black History Month.

The purpose of this pop-up shop is to teach everyone about culture while teaching them about self-care and encouraging them to come together.

Those who attend this event can expect to shop from many different vendors, learn how they got started, visit an exhibit, and more.

Treacy Croft, a native of Newton, tells us what she hopes people take away from this event.

“We can do anything that we set our mind to together; it’s about love and togetherness. This is what this is about, and to learn about your hair, the different areas, what the town is about, where we come from, and where we are going, this is what this is about,” says Croft.
