A video of a woman highlighting the “reality” of living in an apartment in New York City below a neighbor who forgot to turn off her sink tap has gone viral on TikTok.

The video was posted by @sam_anth_uhhh and has garnered 8.4 million views since it was posted on February 15.

A note overlaid on the clip reads: “The reality of living in NYC.”

“When your upstairs neighbor ‘forgets to turn off her sink’ and floods your bathroom.”

The footage shows a giant water blister on a white wall. A woman is later shown poking a small hole in it with the sharp end of a hairbrush while holding a bowl against the wall to catch the water seeping out of the hole.

The caption continues: “And before anyone comes for me, the water is clean and the super repaired it and there is no mold.”
