Residents get ready for a break from winter’s deep freeze as daytime temperatures climb into the positives this week!

While the skies will stay mostly cloudy, the milder trend brings a touch of relief—though evenings will still be brisk, with bouts of rain and snow expected across southern Ontario.

As of Sunday (Feb. 23), flurries will linger under overcast skies.

The morning begins with a 40 per cent chance of snowfall, with southwest winds increasing to 20 km/h near noon. Wind chills near -12 C will ease as the high reaches -1 C by the afternoon, though some areas may stay slightly colder with a risk of freezing rain.

By evening, flurries are expected to taper off, but skies will stay cloudy as wind speeds pick up again, gusting to 40 km/h closer to midnight.

Overnight, temperatures will dip to -4 C, with wind chills making it feel like -10 …
