Machete attack in Ontario town sends man to hospital; four suspects at large [Video]

Police are looking for four suspects after a machete attack in Ajax that sent a man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Durham Regional Police responded to an armed person call Friday evening, just after 10 p.m., at a home on Griffith Drive, near Delaney Drive, in Ajax. Officers arrived on scene and found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The victim told police he was approached by four men as he returned to a home in the area and after a brief interaction was stabbed multiple times. The suspects fled on foot.

The victim was transported to a Toronto trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. His condition has since been upgraded to stable.

Police said they believe this to be an isolated incident.
