Highway crash leads police to 2 stolen Quebec vehicles and charges for Brampton man [Video]

Two Ontario men including one from Brampton have been charged after a pair of stolen vehicles from Quebec were recovered in a crash.

The single-vehicle collision happened on Highway 401 with the OPP saying officers were called to the scene shortly after 12:30 a.m. near the Gardiners Road on-ramp in Kingston.

When police arrived they found the vehicle had been abandoned but saw “obvious signs of an injured driver” who had managed to walk away from the crash.

Police say the vehicle had been previously reported stolen in Quebec.

Officers searched for the driver with the help of the Kingston Police Force and a K-9 unit, but were unable to locate the suspect.

But police say a second stolen vehicle, also from Quebec, had stopped along the highway to pick up the injured driver. The second vehicle was stopped and both the driver and passenger were arrested.
