Multiple weapons charges after threats made at eastern Ontario high school [Video]

A handgun, ammunition and several ‘edged weapons’ were seized after the OPP responded to a report of a student making threats and in possession of weapons at Campbell District High School in Northumberland County Tuesday afternoon.

A 15-year-old from Havelock was arrested on scene and has been charged with six weapons offences and uttering death threats. The high school was placed in lockdown during the investigation.

There were no injuries reported and police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the crime. The Northumberland OPP Crime Unit has been engaged to assist with the investigation.

The boy was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on a later date.
