More than 137,000 kitchen stoves have been recalled in Canada because they pose a fire hazard, officials say.

A notice from Health Canada said the recall involves slide-in and freestanding LG electric ranges, with five surface elements and front-mounted knobs.

They’re black and stainless steel in colour and are 30 inches wide.

A list of the affected products in available at the bottom of this article.

“Front-mounted knobs on the recalled ranges can be activated by accidental contact by humans or pets, posing a fire hazard,” the notice said.

As of Feb. 12, LG has received eight reports of incidents and two reports of injuries in Canada, including one minor burn and one minor cut, officials said.

Consumers were advised to contact LG for a free warning label.

“Consumers may continue to use their range while waiting for the free warning label and instructions,” the notice said.
