Taste of the Triad is a locally Black-owned soul food restaurant in Winston-Salem.It’s gone viral on social media for popular dishes like its macaroni and cheese, fried chicken and desserts.But the history behind the building they serve hundreds of people in every day runs deeper. As a Winston-Salem native, owner, Sabrina Wingo says she’s been proud of the community and culture she’s created at the restaurant.She said people travel from outside the state to enjoy her family’s recipes.”You’re going to see ribs, you’re going to see oxtails and authentic food that your grandmother used to cook, that your mom used to cook,” Wingo said.But ‘Taste of the Triad’ wasn’t the building’s original owner.
