Former finance minister and Deputy PM of Canada Chrystia Freeland hit out at the US on tariffs. She compared the situation in Russia-Ukraine negotiations to what Canadians face with the US. Freeland is running for Liberal PM after stepping down from the Trudeau government in December. The US has imposed 25% product-wide tariffs on Canada and Mexico over border security and fentanyl trade. Freeland also showed support for Ukraine, saying US President Trump’s closeness with Russian counterpart Putin threatens North America.
