ONTARIO COUNTY, N.Y. — New York prosecutors charged seven people with the murder and torture of a transgender man from Oakdale, Minnesota.
The Ontario County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday they charged seven people with the first-degree murder of Sam Nordquist. If convicted, the defendants face a sentence of life without parole.
According to his mother, Nordquist had traveled to New York in September 2024 to meet his online girlfriend, Precious Arzuaga. The prosecutors’ investigation focuses on the defendants’ actions between Jan. 1 and Feb. 2, 2025, which is the date of Nordquist’s death.
Kelly Wolford, the Ontario County first assistant district attorney, said the prosecutors aim to “prove that all seven people tortured Sam Nordquist and they did so because they enjoyed it.”
