Trump tariffs pose concern for some Oregon businesses [Video]

President Trump implemented the 25% tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico, with impacts ranging from the automaker industry to the farming industry.

WOODBURN, Ore. — President Donald Trump has spoken of imposing tariffs on foreign countries for months, and as of Tuesday, a 25% tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico is now in effect. In addition, the tariff on Chinese imports has now doubled to 20%. 

Some countries, like Canada, expressed their plan to retaliate, with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issuing a statement Monday, stating that if the tariffs were to occur, Canada would respond with a 25% tariff on $155 billions of American goods. China will also soon impose additional tariffs of up to 15% on some U.S. goods, as well.
