Charges including arson have been laid against a Mississauga man following a structure fire that police say was set on purpose on an Ontario First Nation.

The blaze happened on Sunday around 2 a.m. when officers from the Six Nations Police Service and OPP were called to Third Line Road in Ohsweken, located on Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation.

When emergency crews arrived they found a structure fire had caused “minor” exterior damage to a building.

No injuries were reported and police say an investigation led police to believe the fire was “set intentionally.”

The OPP says a suspect in the fire was arrested on Wednesday on Fourth Line in Ohsweken and charged with multiple offences.

Police say Daryoush Khosravi, 24, of Mississauga has been charged with arson – damage to property and mischief under $5,000.
