Charis Matthews claimed President Donald Trump has launched the country into a trade war that it is “going to lose,” and argued  that “anemic” Democrats aren’t offering much of a fight against his plans on Tuesday.

Matthews, a former MSNBC host, joined Tuesday’s edition of Morning Joe and blasted the president for hitting countries like Canada and Mexico with major tariffs. Matthews argued the trade war and concerns over cuts recommended by Elon Musk’s DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) could offer “anemic” Democrats an opportunity to take back the House of Representatives.

Matthews argued faithful supporters of Trump are putting blind faith in his trade war plan and “ignorant” if they believe that market drops are only temporary.

He argued:
