The highway used daily for most Midlanders and Odessans has made progress. The eastbound and westbound lanes are now open.

ODESSA, Texas — The State Highway 191 project in Midland-Odessa made some huge progress recently, as the eastbound and westbound lanes are now open, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) on Tuesday.

However, it is not complete yet.

TXDOT said they’re still working on a new interchange at Yukon, spanning 2.518 miles. This will include a new surface, drainage, retaining walls, pavement markings, signs and illumination.

According to TXDOT, this part of the SH 191 project is expected to complete by late summer of this year.
