How Tennessee representatives voted on the stopgap funding bill [Video]

The bill is 99 pages long and is headed to the Senate, where it would need to find some Democratic support to pass.

There was only one Republican holdout, Thomas Massie (R-KY) who President Donald Trump condemned on social media after the vote by calling him “too much trouble.” Massie responded by saying Trump was “attacking me and Canada today. The difference is: Canada will eventually cave.”

Only one Democratic lawmaker voted for it — Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME). Democratic lawmakers have mostly stood against the bill, warning the stopgap bill could bolster Republican power in Congress. Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) called it a “blank check to Elon Musk and to President Trump.”

Every Republican representative from Tennessee voted to approve the bill, including Rep Tim Burchett. It was the first time since 2019 that he voted in favor of a short-term budget bill. He said a call from Trump …
