You get to know an arena pretty well when you’ve covered hundreds and hundreds of games and other events inside it. So for years, every nook and cranny of Hamilton’s downtown arena has felt incredibly familiar.

Yet stepping inside this week for a look at how renovations were going, it was impossible not to get entirely turned around and thoroughly disoriented.
