A snowmobiler’s puzzling injury has led police in Newfoundland to charge a 66-year-old man with attempted murder.

RCMP say two snowmobilers were riding across a pond on Feb. 21 in the western Newfoundland community of Port au Port, when one vehicle came to a stop and the male driver fell over.

The driver of the other snowmobile checked on the man and discovered he was badly hurt.

The man was taken to hospital with serous injuries that police say were not the result of a fall from a snowmobile.

Police have issued several news releases asking for the public’s help in the case, and said today they made an arrest.

The 66-year-old man was arrested at his home on Sunday, and he faces a charge of “attempting to commit murder where a firearm is used …
