A gun and thousands of dollars worth of drugs was found after a vehicle flipped over in Ontario this week, police say.

Niagara Regional Police said that on Monday at around 4:45 a.m., officers responded to the area of Garrison Road and Helena Street in Fort Erie for a crash.

“Initial investigation revealed that there was a single motor vehicle collision which resulted in a grey Buick striking a street post and flipping over,” police said.

Officers discovered that an individual involved in the crash was allegedly in possession of a Glock firearm, as well as fentanyl, cocaine, oxycodone, and cannabis.

Police said the estimated street value of the drugs is around $18,000.

Fort Erie resident Ardon Chamberlain, 21, has been charged with several offences.

He appeared on court on Monday and was remanded into custody.

Anyone with information was asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
