Fatal crash in Clackamas County after vehicle becomes airborne [Video]

A deputy found the car engulfed in flames. Clackamas Fire extinguished the flames, revealing a person inside the vehicle.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A person is dead following a high-speed crash in unincorporated Clackamas County near the intersection of Southeast 72nd Avenue and Southeast Alberta Avenue.

Multiple callers reported around 11:19 p.m. on Saturday that a vehicle had driven off the road and crashed in the area. When the deputy arrived, at first there was no sign of a crash, but they soon after found a white 2012 Infiniti Ex35 compact SUV fully engulfed in flames on a property — a significant distance from where it had left the roadway, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said. 

Clackamas Fire extinguished the flames, revealing a person inside the vehicle. The person was pronounced dead at the scene. CCSO said it is working to identify the person.
