Flying object smashes through windshield of van on Ontario highway [Video]

A delivery van received extensive damage when an object smashed through the windshield while travelling on Highway 401.

The van was in the westbound lane of the highway near Tremaine Road in Milton when the incident happened on March 14.

According to the OPP, a mud flap on a tractor-trailer that was in front of the van came loose and flew into the window.

No injuries were reported but the van received extensive damage.

According to a member of the OPP, the incident could have been a lot worse.

“This could have ended in tragedy for the driver of the van,” an OPP officer told INsauga.com. “You wouldn’t think a mud flap could do this type of damage but look what it did. Those inside the van were very lucky.”

The OPP wants to talk to anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam video. Investigators can be reached …
