A fox family has once again made a home in Courtice, and while they’re an adorable sight, Clarington’s Animal Services is asking residents to give them space and keep local wildlife safe and wild.

“The mother fox is busy raising her kits, and they will naturally move on once they are strong and ready,” animal services said in a statement. “While it’s exciting to see wildlife up close, feeding them or trying to approach them can do more harm than good. If they become too comfortable around humans, they may struggle to survive on their own in the wild.”

A fox family has been using the den in south Courtice for many years and while the location had been shared on social media in previous years, the municipality is asking residents and visitors to leave the family alone, keep pets on a leash and remind children to stay away from …
