Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating after a man was rushed to hospital following a crash with a Peel Regional Police cruiser.

The crash happened around 6:20 a.m on Tuesday in the area of Torbram Road and Peter Robertson Boulevard, Peel police say.

A police spokesperson confirmed that a PRP vehicle was involved in the collision but was unable to provide additional details.

One male victim was rushed to hospital in non-life threatening condition and the crash closed all lanes on Torbram Road from Bovaird Drive to Eagleridge Drive, and all lanes on Peter Robertson Boulevard from PoppyBloom Avenue to Eagleridge Drive for several hours.

Peel police say the Special Investigations Unit has been called in to investigate the crash.

The SIU is Ontario’s civilian law enforcement agency which investigates police incidents where there has been death, serious injury, the discharge of a firearm, or allegations of sexual assault.

Anyone with information about this incident can contact the SIU …
