P.E.I.’s Deedee Austin has advanced on Canada’s Got Talent after getting a golden buzzer from judge Howie Mandel. Austin performed on the show Tuesday night, singing ‘Buried Truth.’ The 19-year-old singer from Abegweit First Nation tells CBC News: Compass host Louise Martin that she wrote the song to honour the victims and survivors of Canada’s residential school system.
