DPD: Suspect accused of assaulting bride-to-be arrested in Bedford [Video]

The suspect was previously charged with assaulting a police officer, records show, and he was recently released from jail on parole.

DALLAS — The Dallas Police Department said the suspect accused of assaulting an Oklahoma woman in town for her bachelorette trip was arrested Friday. 

According to an update from Dallas PD, Trevon Woodards, 27, was arrested by the Bedford Police Department in connection with the alleged assault of 27-year-old Canada Rinaldi. 

Court records show that Woodards has previously been charged with assaulting a police officer. He has faced several other criminal charges, including burglary of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor assault. 

Records also show Woodards recently applied for and was granted parole, releasing him from jail. 

Rinaldi was leaving a club in East Dallas when a stranger suddenly punched her in the face, she told WFAA, leaving her unconscious and seriously injured. The attack resulted in a broken nose, three broken teeth and eight stitches on her face.
