President Donald Trump has given several statements to the media about various tariffs, leaving a few possible situations on the table.

Tariffs have become a defining term for Trump’s second term in the White House, with the president taking aim at specific industries as well as specific countries.

On his first day back in office, he promised 25 per cent tariffs on all products coming into the US from its closest neighbours, Mexico and Canada.

According to the Trump administration, this was part of a push to put pressure on the countries to tackle illegal migration and fentanyl crossing the borders.

On March 30, Trump told the press that “all countries” should expect to be hit by tariffs, when asked by a reporter on Air Force One whether future tariffs would affect between 10 and 15 countries.
