Clean-up continues in eastern Ontario as many still without power [Video]

The clean-up from the weekend ice storm continues in communities above the Oak Ridges Moraine, with power still out in some pockets of Brock Township.

Brock has declared a State of Emergency due to the “severe” impacts of the storm.

The Township Municipal Administration building has no landline telephone service and cell connection is very limited, the township said in a news release. “Residents that do have power or the ability to email concerns can do so via [email protected] and staff will get to those once communication services are re-established.”

Some residents have been without power for more than three days, with power expected to be restored by the end of day Tuesday.

Durham Region’s Waste Management Facility in Brock remains closed from the storm but the facility in neighbouring Scugog Township has now reopened and will be temporarily accepting storm-related yard waste such as fallen branches.
