Flash floods possible with up to 50 mm of rain expected in Brampton [Video]

Be prepared for possible flash flooding and power outages as a spring storm could bring up to 50 mm of rain and snow to Brampton this week.

Environment Canada has issued rainfall and freezing rain warnings for much of southern Ontario including Brampton where between 30 mm to 50 mm of rain could fall by Thursday morning.

The weather agency is warning of possible flooding in low-lying areas as heavy downpours “can cause flash floods” or lead to large pools of water on roadways.

The city was hit with a blanket of snow on Wednesday with the rain expected later in the afternoon and into the evening.
