U.S. President Donald Trump signed two executive orders on what he termed as “reciprocal tariffs” on Wednesday. Leaders from multiple countries have expressed their opposition to the move. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that a trade war is in no one’s interest. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney also stated that Canada will fight these tariffs with countermeasures. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that the U.S. was not acting as a friend and that the tariffs have no basis in logic.
