Knife-point robbery at drug store leads to charges for Ontario woman [Video]

A knife-wielding woman accused of shoplifting is facing serious charges after a robbery at a Shopper’s Drug Mart in Bowmanville last week.

Durham Police responded to a robbery call at the drug store on Longworth Avenue just before the 10 p.m. closing time on March 27. Police were told a woman had entered the store and began to conceal items in her purse. When confronted by an employee, the suspect held out a knife and fled the store with the stolen items before police arrived.

Officers were able to locate the woman nearby and take her into custody. The stolen items were recovered and the knife seized.

Missy Antille, 22, of Bowmanville, is facing charges of robbery, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of probation.

Antille was held for a bail hearing.
