More rain forecast for the weekend in southern Ontario [Video]

More rain could be on the way this weekend in southern Ontario.

After heavy rainfall caused localized flooding and closed roads across the region Wednesday and Thursday, more rain is forecast for the weekend.

The temperature reached nearly 20 C on Thursday afternoon in the GTA, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

The sunshine will continue on Friday but the temperature high is expected to hit 12 C on Friday. It could drop down to 5 C in the evening with a 60 per cent chance of rain.

There is a risk of thunderstorms in Hamilton and the Niagara Region on Friday night.

On Saturday, clouds will move in and periods of rain are expected. The high is 16 C and it could drop down to 3 C in the evening. There is a 40 per cent chance of showers in the evening.

A high of 13 C is expected in Durham Region on Saturday.
