Police are urging Ontario residents to keep their cool amid power outages after a hydro worker was threatened while on the job this week.
Freezing rain and a spring storm have caused power outages across the province since the weekend, including in Peterborough County where one upset resident verbally took their frustrations out on a utilities worker.
The incident happened on Wednesday member of one of the crews working to restore power to the area, the OPP says.
The hydro worker was at the side of a roadway finishing some paperwork when a driver in a dark-coloured SUV stopped beside them.
That’s when the driver said “they would be coming after the hydro worker to cause them harm” if the power wasn’t restored to their house by the evening.
Police say the worker contacted police to report the incident but no charges have been laid.
