Child luring charges for Ontario man caught in multi-force investigation [Video]

A Whitby man is in custody and facing child luring charges following an investigation by Durham Police’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE), with the help of ICE units in Peterborough and Belleville.

Police made the arrest Thursday after arranging a meet in a Pickering park between the suspect and who he believed was a 14-year-old girl.

The man is accused of sending sexually explicit images and inviting the girl to the park “to engage in sexual acts.”

When Steven Catucci, 47, arrived at the park Durham Police ICE Unit officers took him into custody without incident.

Catucci is charged with child luring and making sexually explicit material available to a child.

He was held for a bail hearing.

Police believe Catucci communicated on ‘Chat IB’ with the username ‘Durham4222’ and are concerned there may be other victims.
