Spring may be settling in, but not all of Ontario is moving at the same pace. As May unfolds, some regions will ease into warmer, brighter and longer days, while others remain under cloudy skies that can’t quite shake the rain.

According to the Farmers’ Almanac, the month kicks off on a dreary note, with chilly temperatures and rain expected from May 1 to 6.

Between May 7 and 19, northern Ontario will see longer breaks of sunshine and gradually rising temperatures. In contrast, southern Ontario is in for another stretch of rain—some of it heavy—before the warmth finally takes hold.

From May 20 to 31, conditions improve slightly. The north continues its dry streak, while the south remains damp, with occasional downpours and cooler air returning late in the month.
