It looks like southern Ontario is finally seeing a hint of spring, with the weather briefly shifting gears, trading in snow for sunshine and slightly milder temperatures. But gusty winds will keep the day feeling cooler than it appears.

Those up early for Sunday’s 6:47 a.m. sunrise might get lucky with a clear view — if clouds don’t get in the way.

The day begins with a mix of sun and clouds in Mississauga, Brampton, Halton and Durham, while Hamilton will see mainly cloudy skies. Winds will reach 30 km/h, gusting to 50, with daytime highs hovering between 6 and 7 C.

The UV index will climb to a high level of 7 across all cities. Environment Canada advises protecting your skin when the index is 3 or higher, particularly between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
