Pedestrian seriously injured in hit-and-run in St. Catharines, Ontario [Video]

A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run Sunday morning in St. Catharines.

Niagara Regional Police say officers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Carlton Street and Grantham Avenue around 8 a.m.

Investigators say the victim was walking north on the west side of Grantham Avenue and crossing at the intersection when a vehicle hit them.

The driver did not stop or identify themselves before fleeing westbound on Carlton and turning south onto Stoyanoff Drive, police say.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a newer model Buick SUV, possibly dark purple or brown in colour.

The driver is described as a white man, approximately 65 years old, wearing glasses and a baseball cap.

The pedestrian was transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries. Police have not provided further details on the victim, including their age, whether they are male or female and their …
