Police are on the hunt for a lone gunman after a Circle K store in Oshawa was robbed at gunpoint of cigarettes and cash.

Durham Regional Police responded to an armed robbery call just before 5 a.m. on Sunday at the Circle K store on Park Road South. Police were told a man entered the store brandishing a firearm and demanded the employee open the register and fill a gym bag with cigarettes and cash.

The suspect, described only as a white man, fled the area prior to the arrival of police.

No physical injuries were reported.

Anyone with cellphone, dash cam, surveillance footage, or information about this incident is asked to contact the Robbery Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5355.
