A trip to Brazil now comes with a new requirement for Canadians.
Those looking to visit the South American country now need to get a visa.
The Government of Canada’s travel advice for the country notes that the requirement began on Thursday.
And the new visa requirement isn’t just for Canadians.
“Starting from April 10, 2025, passport holders from Australia, Canada, and the United States will require a visa for entry,” the website for the Brazilian visa says.
“If you already possess a valid physical visa in your passport for your visit’s purpose, you do not need to apply for a new visa.”
Once the eVisa is approved, travellers are able to stay in Brazil for up to 90 days per year. If someone wants to extend their stay, they need to contact the Federal Police.
More information, including requirements and pricing, can be found on the Brazil eVisa website.
