BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – The trend of wet and gloomy weekends continues here in Maine. We will see precipitation accumulation for the 3rd straight weekend. The last time we had a dry weekend was March 22nd and 23rd.

A low-pressure system is set up to our South over New Jersey. The front is occluded, providing snow and rainfall to Maine today. However, sat stubbornly to our North in Quebec is an area of high pressure. This high pressure is acting as a lineman, blocking far Northern Maine from receiving precipitation Saturday. However, this also means that the precipitation for the rest of Maine will sit overhead. This will carry on through Sunday until the high pressure to the North moves out, allowing the low pressure over New England to pass through, bringing better conditions for Monday.
