The event at Nathan Phillips Square on Saturday is one of many hosted by Urban Playground Toronto, which has held the annual pillow fight for four years. Their goal is to encourage connection through playful, low-stakes fun.

Dozens gathered, armed with their cushy weapons, buzzing with anticipation. 

Two lines stood facing each other, awaiting the countdown to strike zero. Then, chaos erupted. Strangers charged. Feathers flew. Each soft strike landed with a resounding thud.
