DC residents say smell of rat infestation at their apartments is unbearable [Video]

Residents at Quebec House apartments say they’ve been dealing with a rat infestation for over 8 months.

WASHINGTON — Residents at Quebec House apartments in Northwest D.C. say they’ve been dealing with a rat infestation for over eight months.

Residents first told WUSA9 about the issue in January. The management company told WUSA9 the rodent issue would be resolved in a few months. However, on Monday, residents said they could hear the large rats crawling up and down the walls at night. 

One of the Residents at Quebec House shared a video of what he believes are rats scratching and crawling in between the walls. 

“Normally, around seven to midnight, you can hear them in the walls trying to get out,” they said. 

Shannon Hayes, the Tenant Association president, showed WUSA9 inside the apartment complex, where rat holes could be seen in the ceiling of the basement. 

Residents told WUSA9 the smell is unbearable.
