ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A school bus was involved in an accident in Gilmer County on Monday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies and emergency personnel responded to the accident involving a school bus on Yukon Road in the Ellijay area, the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook shortly after 3:30 p.m.

The sheriff’s office said “no serious injuries have been reported,” and “EMS is evaluating all students on board as a precaution.”

It is not known what school the bus was coming from and how many people were on board.

The sheriff’s office said deputies have one lane open and are directing traffic. Drivers are asked to avoid the area, and should use caution if they need to travel through.
