A North Frontenac man zigged when he should have zagged while out for a rip on his UTV north of Kingston Wednesday, causing his vehicle to roll over and trapping the man underneath.

Local fire crews were able to lift the UTV and free the man from the wreckage.

He was taken by ambulance to hospital with a serious but not life-threatening injury.

Frontenac OPP have charged the 35-year-old with operating the utility vehicle – a larger type of ATV designed to haul heavier loads – on a highway without a proper license, failing to wear a helmet and careless driving.
