The City of Oshawa will join communities and organizations around Durham Region and Ontario in observing National Day of Mourning next Monday to remember those who have lost their lives or suffered injury or illness at work.

Communities around the globe mark the National Day of Mourning each year on April 28 as all flags are lowered to half-mast and residents pause to reflect on and honour the memory of those who have died or suffered injury or illness due to a work-related tragedy.

Oshawa will honour those workers and their families at a ceremony at City Hall (North Parkette) at 11 a.m.
