PHOENIX (KYMA, KECY/NBC) – Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes is holding a press conference Wednesday to announce a lawsuit against the Trump Administration over tariffs.

Joining Attorney General Mayes in the press conference are small business owners and union leaders.

According to a press release, the lawsuit is said to be challenging President Donald Trump’s executive orders calling for higher tariffs on the following countries:

“President Trump’s insane tariff scheme is not only economically reckless – it is illegal,” Mayes said in the press release. “Arizona cannot afford President Trump’s massive tax increase. No matter what the White House claims, tariffs are a tax that will be passed on to Arizona consumers.”

The press release also says the lawsuit will challenge President Trump’s plan “to raise tariffs on imports from 46 other trading partners on July 9.”
