A man has been charged with alleged sexual assault at a major Ontario mall.
Law enforcement officials have said that the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit has laid charges against the perpetrator after an incident inside the Vaughan Mills Mall on Friday, April 11.
The victim filed a report on April 14, stating that, while at the mall, they were approached by the suspect and were then allegedly touched inappropriately, police say.
After which, the suspect then informed the victim that they would purchase items for them within the mall in exchange for further sexual contact, police say.
After an investigation was launched, police in the area were able to identify and charge the suspect.
As a result of the investigation, 28-year-old Jairatan Singh of the City of Toronto has been charged with sexual assault.
